Metl-Span's FM 4881 Windload Ratings for Panels Manufactured in all Metl-Span Plants-Fastening Pattern 10

 

Test results from this program and prior Approval programs sponsored by Metl-Span LLC indicate that 2 to 6 in. (50 to 150 mm) thick Metl-Span CF-Flute, CF-Mesa, CF-Light Mesa, CFI-Flute, CFI-Mesa, CFI-Light Mesa and CFI-Metl-Plank exterior wall panels produced with minimum 26 ga. [minimum 0.0170 in. (0.432 mm) base steel thickness] painted (optional) stainless, galvanized or Galvalume steel interior and exterior facers and an Approved foam system meet the Approval requirements of the Standard listed above as indicated in the tables below when installed as indicated below.

FP10-Panels through fastened to each steel support with Panel Attachment Screws with Sealing Washers (stainless steel or coated carbon steel 1/4-14 HWH self drilling fasteners with type 3 points for minimum 14 ga. [0.0710 in. (1.8 mm)] steel supports, 1/4-14, 14/4-20, 1/4-28 or 12-24 HWH self drilling fasteners with type 5 points for minimum 3/16 in. (4.75 mm) steel supports or #14-14 HWH self tapping fasteners with type AB, B or BP points through properly sized pilot holes) 8.4 in. (215 mm) on center.  See Appendix C.

Tests show 1) that the panels in and of themselves would not create a need for automatic sprinklers and 2) that the panels would be acceptable in a combustible occupancy protected by automatic sprinklers as defined by FM Global Property Loss Prevention Standards.
