Metl-Span Stainless Steel Panels Shine In Food Processing Expansion
Pierre Frozen Foods, a high quality food processor specializing in meat products and pre-cooked sandwiches, utilized more than 25,000 sq. ft. of Metl-Span’s CF polyurethane foam insulated stainless steel panels in the expansion of its facility in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The 4” Mesa panels with stainless steel interiors were installed on the walls and ceiling of Pierre Foods’ processing room.
The design/build project was completed in less than five months by Tippmann Construction, a division of the Tippmann Group, Fort Wayne, IN. Tippmann specializes in refrigerated logistics and construction.
According to Gary Sluss, director of engineering at Pierre, “We knew of Tippmann’s experience in constructing cold storage facilities and we were pleased to see their expertise applied to our food processing building. We are convinced that very few others could have met our construction timetable and remained as cost effective as Tippmann.”
An obvious benefit of stainless steel is the ease with which it can be cleaned and its resistance to chemicals. Metl-Span panels are ideal for controlled environment buildings where temperature control and insulation values are critical.
Metl-Span pioneered many of the developments of insulated metal panels and continues to make significant contributions to design innovations and technology that have become industry standards.
